Muay Thai

Muay Thai , sometimes referred as Thai Boxing, is a martial art and combat sport that uses stand-up striking along with various clinching technique.

Muay Thai Boxing is known as the “art of eight limbs” as it is characterised by the combined use of fists, elbows, knees and shins.

Our instructors here in Fitness in Motion are experienced fighters and they will teach you everything you need to know even if you are a complete beginner .

All our Muay Thai fitness classes will include specific conditioning , technical training , punching bag work , pad work and light sparing .

Thai Boxing is a great way to not only learn a fighting skill but also have fun while burning loads of calories .

What to expect from a Muay Thai class?

All our trainers in Fitness in Motion are highly qualified Thai boxing instructors.
The instructors experienced both in coaching as well as training for real Muay Thai fights.
So you can trust them when they tell you what works and what no .
Thai Boxing classes in our studio are great both for complete beginners as well as for those who have some experience in kick boxing or other martial arts training.
The classes usually structured as follows :

Thai Boxing Warmup

  • Before starting kicking and punching you have to get your body ready.
  • The warmup is usually designed to get you moving and will include general conditioning and cardio preparation.
  • In addition some Muay Thai specific drills like basic footwork , dynamic stretches , basic punching etc…

Technical Training

  • When you are ready to go – we will start the technical training .
  • In this part of the class you will work on individual technics like a punch or a kick followed by a combination of movements .
  • Having the right technic is important both for the efficiency and power generation but also to prevent injuries .

Punching Bag Practice

  • Now when you are familiar with the technic you can hit the bag !
  • This is where your full body work out kicks in.
  • You will practice all the combinations you have learned in class on the punching bag .
  • Muay Thai classes are very demanding and be sure that you will burn out tons of calories .

Pad Work – Muay Thai style

  • During the class the instructor will do Pad work with every student .
  • This is designed so you can practice the combination with a live target.
  • At this point the coach can focus only on you and correcting your technics and responses .
  • Here you have a chance to work on your response speed , technic correction , power generation and endurance .

Light Kick Boxing Sparing

  • The sparing practice is required simply because you need to feel what works and what don’t .
  • It might be a technical combination of moves or just a free flow so you can practice all you have learned in classes.
  • We guarantee that you will leave every session exhausted yet satisfied !
